WaterAid
WaterAid is an international aid organisation operating in 26 countries WaterAid uses simple and inexpensive solutions to provide clean drinking water ,safe sanitaion and hygiene education to the world's poorest peoples.
In 2012 Lions clubs in the UK will be supporting a major programme in Nepal. Decade long conflict has resulted in a massive migration of the population to urban areas where sewage systems are often unable to cope. In rural areas water supplies are often remote and waste disposal facilities primitive. Only 30% of the population has access to sanition and many infant deaths arise from diarrhoea.
Lions clubs have named March 22 as World Water Day and we will be raising funds to assist WaterAid in Nepal. for more details visit:
